On Thursday 10th December we will be holding the third of our series of reading groups, run in collaboration with the Sheffield Centre for 19th Century Studies, exploring the relationship between nineteenth-century literature and philosophy. This time we will be discussion Chapter 1 of Dickens’s Hard Times, and a lecture by R. W. Emerson called ‘Humanity of Science’. The meeting will be in B09 in Victoria Street, from 5.30-7.00pm.
